Musician/Worship Pastor Carl Fortier has blessed so many people as he has served the Lord faithfully throughout his entire life at Congregations at Hilltop Community Church in Richmond, CA and formerly at San Francisco Christian Center. Many of you remember several performances of The Singing Cross with Carl at the musical helm.
A few weeks ago Carl suffered a stroke, and is experiencing paralysis in his left arm and leg. Although working diligently with rehabilitation specialists, progress has been slow.

Friends of slain Vallejo musician Dewey Tucker are holding a concert in his honor Thursday night at the Empress Theater in Vallejo. Tucker, 24, was shot in his car on westbound Interstate Highway 80 just west of Cummings Skyway near Hercules on Jan. 12 as he drove to band practice in Oakland. He was shot once in the head and crashed his Nissan Sentra into the center divide. No arrests have been made in the case.
Speakers at the tonight's tribute include Vallejo Mayor Osby Davis, Tony Gross, former principal of Jesse Bethel High School which Tucker attended, Ken Smith, his former high school band teacher, and teacher Lewis Brown.
Musicians include Jonno Strickling, Michael Blankenship and Uriah Duffy, the Kev Choice Ensemble, Kenya Boyd and Marcus Crawford, and Clarence Lewis and BASSment. Tucker's friend Tim Barger, one of the concert organizers, said he and Tucker met at Jesse Bethel High School, and as musicians they shared a common bond and became friends immediately. "He was an all-around good guy who always had a smile on his face, who was always goofing around and always playing music," Barger said. Barger said he last saw Tucker, who was engaged to marry, in May but that the two had talked on the phone and exchanged text messages since then. "All he was into was music. He was not a troublemaker," Barger said. Barger said Tucker toured for three months with hip-hop artist Lauryn Hill in July 2007.
Thursday night's concert is free but donations for the family will be accepted, Barger said. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.

A tremendous graphic artist, a gifted music composer, a talented music producer, and a creative genius, Tim’s achievements have touched so many people all over the country and probably around the globe. Tim is one of my biggest fans and supporters, but he is also one of my greatest inspirations and heroes. He has accomplished more being ill than many have well. He has always been an encouragement to other. Tim is one in a million.
I would like to thank you all for the prayers, cards, words of encouragement, support, and the tremendous show of love for my family during this difficult time. Funny, knowing that my brother Tim’s life touched so many people is a source of Joy from the Lord. It has certainly been strength to us since his passing.

Description:farmerbrown is hosting San Francisco’s first-ever, youth run, gospel brunch in collaboration with the non-profit "old skool cafe" EVERY sunday. enjoy an all-u-can-eat delicious brunch buffet(scrambles, stone ground grits, bacon, fried chicken, sweet potatoe pie, and so much more) with live entertainment. 10am-3pm $25 Jonno will be performing and mentoring young people in their performances. This engagement is going to be one of the most memorable for me. The youth who are part of the Old Skool Cafe program are eager to learn and enthusiastic about serving. The are taking in so much in a real world atmosphere as they serve and entertain. I was blessed by being a part of the day.
