To say that “God is love” is an understatement, unless we inspect the type of love that is God’s alone.  According to 1 John 4:7-8, “God is love,” but what kind of love is this?  The Greek word agape is indicated by Today’s Dictionary of the New Testament as unselfish love, benevolence, affection, and good will: better know in today’s church colloquialism as unconditional love.  The immanence of God means that He shares some attributes of Himself with mankind, allowing mankind the capability to truly take on His likeness in a communicable sense.  The transcendence of God means that God stands far above mankind, holding to Himself incommunicable attributes unshared by Him with us, and even with the heavenly beings (Angels).  To love as God loves, for a human is impossible.  For God to “so love” the even the atheist, who renounces even His existence, is a love unshared by humanity (John 3:16).  [...]

God allows us to walk up to the door of sin, and not enter. Without the Holy Spirit coming along side, we would be wiping off the anointing on our feet on sin's doormat, turning the door knob, and pushing into the embrace of the agents of death, destruction, and damnation. But God!~Jonnoism

My wife and I begin today our FACELESS FAST.  
THE FACELESS FAST - The focus of this fast is to turn our selfishness over to selflessness for the sake of your spouse, loved one, and others that you are in relationship with. I need it. Do you?
Symbolically, we are abstaining from food with a face (meat) for 40-days.  You are welcome to join us. 
While on the fast, we will focus on our relationship by employing the book “The Love Dare” by Stephen and Alex Kendrick. www.thelovedarebook.com There are 40 challenges that the book will emphasize that run the course of the 40 days. 
We honor God through our marriage, and we want to grow closer to Him as well as with each other. 
(By the way: The day after the fast is Valentines Day.)

Weekends were made to reflect back on what just happened, relax in the glory of the present, and review plans for what is to come. You cannot change the past, but learn from it. You can relax and regroup; make time for a you-moment. You can make, revise, and review plans; stay in the will of God. Set your sights on God's purpose. ~Jonnoism
